WHAT FOR? Visit www.centrefordreams.ca to learn more about this non-profit organization.  They are a small organization that started out of Elaine's basement of her house and developed from there.  They help developmentally challenged adults with ongoing education and helping them to pursue their dreams, however big or small they may be.

FOR THOSE WHO DON'T RIDE BUT WANNA WATCH:
Best times to come out and see the bikes coming in and out is between 10:15am-11am when you watch us all take off out of the parking lot.  While we are out riding, you can buy 50/50 draw tickets, meet the members of Dreams, and visit the shops on Main Street.
Be sure to come back around 1pm-1:30pm to see the bikes pulling back in from the 2-2.5 hour ride.  Enjoy a BBQ for a small donation which is included for bikers who raised at least the minimum fee.

IF IT RAINS? Check-in time is still between 10am-11am inside the Centre for Dreams where we can calculate top fundraiser and start the 50/50 draw.  We will all meet at The Duchess of Markham across the street for lunch and to announce winners of the top fund raiser and of the 50/50 draw.  Must be present to win.

THE RIDE: Approximately 2 hours long, 93km  (Printout maps will be provided at registration)

THE GOAL: To raise awareness for Dreams Inc. and funding to keep it going.
We hope to get almost 60 bikes and raise over $3,600. Double the bikes from last year and triple the funds raised.

ENTRY FEE: $30 per rider, $10 for passenger or raise at least that much in sponsorship money.  All proceeds go to Dreams.
Note: online fundraising option isn't available yet.  You can collect credit card info to process later when it is ready.  Note, we will not process credit cards on the day of the event.

PRIZES: for who raises the most amount of money for this ride.
Also, a 50/50 draw.

WHERE: Ride will start from and end at The Centre for Dreams parking lot in Markham at 58 Main Street North, Markham, Ontario.  We will start at Dreams Inc at 11am and follow the map below to Leaskdale.  From there we head on our way back to Dreams Inc. for BBQ lunch and prizes.

Details of the ride: We start from Dreams Inc parking lot and finish there.  58 Main Street North, Markham

1.     Turn left out of the parking lot

2.     Continue heading North on Main St.

3.     Turn right on [25] Major MacKenzie Dr

4.     Turn left on [69] / Ninth Line

5.     Turn right on Elgin Mills Rd. (tiny street sign)

6.     Turn left on [30] / York Durham (dead end)

7.     Turn right on [5] / Claremont (hidden turn before stop sign)

8.     Left on [23] / Lake Ridge Road

9.     Left on Durham Road 13 / Leaskdale

10.  Continue straight to end of road.  Gas station on right (half way point).  Stop for a break, grab free water from girl outside.

55.8 km - about 1 hour 10 minutes

Sorry about the route changes.  Forced to comply with MTO, York Region and Town of Markham.  If more changes are required, you don't need to worry.  Just show up at Dreams Inc on the day of the ride, and the map will be provided for you.


HalfWay Point

BREAK AT THE HALF WAY POINT.  Water provided by Dreams Inc.

1.     Exit right from gas station

2.     Turn right at stop sign to go North on Durham Rd 1 / Concession Rd 7

3.     Turn left on [13] / Zephyr Rd

4.     Turn left on Durham Road 39

5.     Keep right on curve. (South to West)

6.     Turn left on [30] / York Durham Line.

7.     Turn left immediately after passing Bloomington to stay on York Durham, otherwise street turns into 10th Line. (not marked as York Durham)

8.     Turn right on [25] / Major Mackenzie

9.     Turn left on [69] / Ninth Line

10.  Turn right on [73] Sixteenth.

11.  Turn left on Main St N.

Continue South to Dreams Inc on right.
Enjoy BBQ, prize winners will be announced.  Socialize and mingle until 3pm.
